Solving an Age Old Mystery

This response was prompted by a Post on Facebook from a Page called "Unlearn," regarding the misconception of the use of the Word "Church," or "Ekklesia" as to mean something Other Than "Israel."  In the process of studying around the concept, I stumbled over what I believe to be, the answer to "An Age Old Mystery."  Here is what I wrote:

I work at an Airport.  From time to time, when I look up at the Radar Tower, I notice that the Radar Antenna is spinning in the opposite direction than what it is supposed to.  I now know, that the Radar Antenna does not ACTUALLY change directions, but rather this is an Optical Illusion created by the angle in which I am looking at the Tower.  My mind KNOWS the direction that it spins, but for some reason, from time to time, I see it in a completely different way.  Knowing this, allows me to correct the way that I am seeing it, and suddenly the Illusion goes away, and I realize that the Antenna is, in fact, spinning in the same direction that it always has.

I share this, because this is an example of the purpose behind "Unlearn."  In order for us to understand The Scriptures, we have to Return ("Repent") back to its (His) original meaning.  Over the Years (Millennia), we have continually superimposed our "Christian Theology" over the Scriptures, then we say - "You see!  It says so."

The question is, "Does it?"  If we are looking from a particular angle, we see the antenna spinning in a different direction, but is it really, or is this simply an Optical Illusion?

For some reason, "The Church" sees itself as an entity unto itself... Separate from Israel.  When the term "Church" or "Ekklesia" is merely a translation of the same concept as the Hebrew - "Kehielot."  It simply means the same thing - "Congregation" - "Community" - or "Assembly."

Now, let's return the concept of Scripture, back to its original context, the way that we KNOW the antenna is spinning, regardless of what we THINK we see.

As I was discussing the term "Do not Forsake the Assembly," with my Father the other day, I began to think in Hebrew, as I spoke in English.  In "Christian" terms, we are taught that this means, that we should "Go to Church on Sunday."  It's wrong to forsake the "Assembly."  However, in Hebrew Thought, "Assembly" doesn't mean "Church on Sunday," it is a reference to "The Mo'edim" (The Feasts of The LORD).

It was a Revelation that hit me, as I spoke the words.  This provoked me to revisit the "Context" in which this verse appeared.

I found my way back to Hebrews 10.

As I began to read this chapter, I realized that The LORD was revealing an Ancient Mystery to me.

A few years ago, I was rebuked, by a visiting member to our Messianic Congregation, because I had made reference to the "Return to Blood Sacrifice," as described in Ezekiel's Temple Prophesy.

"Christ died once and for All!" she proclaimed in protest.

I rebutted, "I'm just the Messenger."  The Word of God declares this.  I don't understand Why, but we have to account for this Scripture, even if it contradicts "OUR" Theology.

If I recall, my answer was not suffice, and I believed she left, toting her Theology out with her.

As The LORD has solved many Mysteries for me, I proceeded in Faith, Trusting that ONE DAY, He would "Open that door, unto me."

This discussion on the word "Church" and the concept of "Assembly," and my resent revisit to Hebrews 10, has helped me to have (what I believe) solved this Mystery.

Hebrews 10:

1 "The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship."

Therefore, we have no need of them (The Sacrifices), because they have no actual value, right?  Is that what it is saying?  Clue = "Things to Come" (Soon, but not yet - Ref to Jeremiah 31:31).

Hebrews 10:2

2 "Otherwise, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins."

"Stopped?"  What is the Writer talking about?  The Temple had not been destroyed yet, and they (The Sacrifices) had not been "Stopped?" (Yet), or is he saying that there would be no need to Sacrifice more than once?

Therefore we have to ask, "What is he referring to?"  He is talking about something that Daniel mentions, and "Jesus" makes reference to in Matthew 24 - "The Abomination of Desolation."  Which according to Daniel, is "The stopping of Sacrifice."  If the Stopping of Sacrifice is called "The Abomination of Desolation," then why would God want this to happen?

In order to understand this paradox, we must go back to "The Gospel of Isaiah."

Isaiah Chapter 1:

11 "The multitude of your sacrifices—
what are they to me?” says the Lord.
“I have more than enough of burnt offerings,
    of rams and the fat of fattened animals;
I have no pleasure
in the blood of bulls and lambs and goats.
12 When you come to appear before me,
who has asked this of you,
    this trampling of my courts?
13 Stop bringing meaningless offerings!
Your incense is detestable to me.
New Moons, Sabbaths and convocations
I cannot bear your worthless assemblies.
14 Your New Moon feasts and your appointed festivals
I hate with all my being.
They have become a burden to me;
I am weary of bearing them.

Question: Is God telling Israel to stop Following His Law right here, right now, before "The New Testament?"

Let's go back to Hebrews 10.

3 "But those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins."  - "ARE an annual reminder of sins."  This is written AFTER what is considered within "Christian Theology," as the beginning of "The New Testament."  We KNOW that these Sacrifices continued until 70 AD, and 1st Century "Christians" continued to do this... Why, if Christ died, "Once and for all?"

 Why?

Verse 3 just explained "Why."  A "Reminder" of Sins.  This WAS, and IS, and WILL BE (Ezekiel's Temple) the REASON Why we perform the Sacrifices, so that we "Remember" our Need for Messiah's Death, until He returns.  (AND Fulfills The New Testament: Jeremiah 31:31)

Hebrews 10

4 "It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins."  NOW?  Since the New Testament is in Play?

Let's go back to Isaiah 1:11

“The multitude of your sacrifices—
what are they to me?” says the Lord.
“I have more than enough of burnt offerings,
    of rams and the fat of fattened animals;
I have no pleasure
in the blood of bulls and lambs and goats.

This has nothing to do with "The Old" and "The New Testament."

Hebrews 10:4 says "It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins."  There is no, "NOW, it is impossible..."  It NEVER was!

When we superimpose this "Theology" into our Faith, and we say that "That was The Old Testament, and NOW we live in the New," we miss the Whole Point of Hebrews 10.  Hebrews 10 is saying nothing different than Isaiah 1.

Therefore, when it comes down to it, God stopped the Sacrifices, (The Destruction of the Temple) not because He wanted it to end, but because we would not "Repent," and do it for the right reasons. (Isaiah 1)

There was nothing wrong with Blood Sacrifice, before or AFTER Yeshua's Death and Resurrection.  The process was NEVER meant to be what Messiah's Sacrifice was to be.  They were meant to work together.

One did not replace the other.  They both had a purpose.

Hebrews 10:3 - Explains WHAT that purpose IS.

Hebrews 10:4 - Explains WHAT that purpose was NOT.

This takes me back to my final point, and back to the whole Revelation created by this post.

"Do not forsake the Assembly," which is interpreted as "Go to Church."

The misconception that we have superimposed upon the term "Church," has lead us in a completely different (Opposite) direction of what this verse, in context, is stating.  In Hebrew Thought, he is saying "Do not Forsake the Mo'edim ("Assemblies") - "God's Appointed Times."  The Opposite of what "The Church" teaches.

It's just that, when we take this in context and reference to Isaiah 1, which the Writer himself refers to, we come to the understanding, "If you are going to Observe the Mo'edim, do it for the right purpose."

"Zakar" - "Remember" our NEED for Messiah's Sacrifice to Complete it.

"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them." Matthew 5:17  (They are meant to work together - Not replace one another).  The 1st could NEVER do it on its own.  It was never meant to.  The Sin Sacrifice was always about Messiah.  This is NOT a "New Testament" Theology.  It's a Scriptural Fact.

16 For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.
17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
18 Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.
19 Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar. Psalm 51:16-19

"THEN shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar."

"Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift." Matthew 5:23-24

Sometimes, it only appears that the Radar Antenna is spinning in the other direction, but it's just an "Obstacle Illusion."

Blessings.

The Shadows of Hebrew (Part 7)

Shalom Chaverim,

Once again, welcome back to The Shadows of Hebrew.  After a couple weeks holiday, we should be refreshed and ready to tackle these mysteries of The Scripture.

As we continue this deeper look at the Life of Cain, let's remember this paradigm established by The Word of God.

"What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; There is nothing new under the sun." Ecclesiastes 1:9

Keeping this in mind, let us understand that in essence, not much has really changed since the Days of Cain.

The Prime Directives of our Human Experience are based upon maintaining supplies of Water, Food, Shelter, and Survival in General.  Yes, we may do things a little different today, with all our "Modern Technology," but the essentials to sustain life, have not changed.

Now, for a moment, put yourself in a situation where you have been "Outcast," into a place unfamiliar to you, and no matter what you do, the ground will not provide food for you.  You are forced to find food from other sources.  Therefore, if you cannot grow food from the ground, where do you turn?  The first thing that comes to mind is "Hunt for Meat."

Isn't it Ironic, when you think about it?  Cain worked the ground, and would not kill an animal for proper sacrifice, or even "Trade" with his brother to provide that offering, but now he was forced by his "Enosh" (Fallen Nature or Human Instinct) to "Kill and Eat," just to Survive and sustain "his" Life.

Wandering, Cain began that nomadic life-style of pursuing the Animal Migration to survive.  Today, we are very familiar with the need for a "Balanced Diet."  Whether we adhere to this Wisdom or not is another story, but all the same, "Man can not live by Bread Alone."

They say that "Necessity is the Father of Invention," and it would appear that Cain found the need to diversify his diet, and it would also appear that this was the secret of Cain's Success!

7 And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bore Enoch; and he builded a city, and called the name of the city after the name of his son Enoch.  Genesis 4:7

What is so significant about this verse?  Cain "Built a City?"

What do you think the first City looked like, providing that we are still thinking in a linear creation perspective, and that Cain's City was, in fact, "The First?"

I only point this out, because, IF you are going to "Build a City," you would probably be provoked to do so, because you want to draw people to yourself...  The question is, "What People?"

Perhaps the same People that Cain was afraid of...

13 And Cain said unto the LORD: 'My punishment is greater than I can bear.

14 Behold, Thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the land; and from Thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a wanderer in the earth; and it will come to pass, that whosoever findeth me will slay me.'

15 And the LORD said unto him: 'Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold.' And the LORD set a sign for Cain, lest any finding him should smite him.  Genesis 4:13-15

WHO was going to "Find" him, is the real question?

Now, I've made reference to "The Gap Theory," in previous installments, as well as, we are familiar with the Theory that Adam and Chavah had "Other Children," and it was their decedents that Cain was afraid of, but the Scripture is very thorough on this matter.  Therefore, let's read on:

17 And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bore Enoch; and he builded a city, and called the name of the city after the name of his son Enoch.

18 And unto Enoch was born Irad; and Irad begot Mehujael; and Mehujael begot Methushael; and Methushael begot Lamech.
19 And Lamech took unto him two wives; the name of one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah.
20 And Adah bore Jabal; he was the father of such as dwell in tents and have cattle.
21 And his brother's name was Jubal; he was the father of all such as handle the harp and pipe.
22 And Zillah, she also bore Tubal-cain, the forger of every cutting instrument of brass and iron; and the sister of Tubal-cain was Naamah.
23 And Lamech said unto his wives: Adah and Zillah, hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech; for I have slain a man for wounding me, and a young man for bruising me;
24 If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold.
25 And Adam knew his wife again; and she bore a son, and called his name Seth: 'for God hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel; for Cain slew him.'
26 And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enosh; then began men to call upon the name of the LORD. {S}  Genesis 4:17-26

There are a lot of clues found here, to the mystery within this portion of Scripture.

One is that, the narrative simply jumps into the fact that Cain "knew" his Wife.  Where did she come from?  Perhaps we can jump to the conclusion that she was a descendant of Adam and Chavah's "Other Children?"

Well, for one thing, this portion of Scripture is very thorough and specific about who was who and where they came from.  Now, let's look at another very important clue to this mystery.

Verse 25 reads:

25 And Adam knew his wife again; and she bore a son, and called his name Seth: 'for God hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel; for Cain slew him.'

Now we can argue and state, "Well, the fact that 'Adam knew his wife again,' doesn't necessarily mean that they didn't have 'Other Children.'"  This verse is (Specifically) used to establish the Birth of Seth, "Other Children"are irrelevant to the context.

Yes, but as the verse (Specifically) implies, this is documented (Specifically) for "The Purpose" of Seth's Birth, which was to "Replace" Abel.

Why is this "Replacement" ("instead") implied?  Why couldn't The Word have simply stated "Seth was born?"  This ALL leads back to the importance of the concept of "The Birth Right," a central Theme to Messianic Understanding.

Which begs the question, "If Adam and Chavah did have "Other Children," were they ONLY daughters, who went unmentioned, because as soon as a Son was born, the issue was documented?"

Therefore, it must have been one of these "unmentioned" daughters that became "Cain's Wife?"  (Perhaps)

Now, this debate has gone on for literally thousands of years, and I am not going to be so arrogant to state that I know the truth, but what I will ask is this, "Was Cain, in fact, afraid of one of his undocumented Sisters?"

Part 2 to that question is, "If there were other 'Men,' then where did they come from, if Adam and Chavah only had 'Undocumented Daughters?'"  A "Man" would have been needed for one of these unmentioned daughters to have conceived sons to "Find" Cain.  (Something is missing from this puzzle)

Again, my point is not to answer this question, as much as it is to provoke the thought on this matter.  I believe The Word of God, but what I do not put my Faith into, is a "Make-Shift and Man Made Theology," that is produced simply because no one wants to face that fact that YHVH is telling us "His Story," in "His Way."  The problem is ours.  If we do not take the time to truly analyze what it is that He is telling us, this leads us to swallow the "Thoughts of Man," without question.  The Problem is that it is not the simple "Turn-Key" Understanding that we want, in order to receive it.  This is why we need the Hebrew, to give us that foundation required to begin to receive it, in its intended state.

As I've stated before, I believe that the answers to the greatest mysteries are there, but they are just hidden within The Shadows of Hebrew.  This is why we look.  We are seeking out His Truth, which is what we find, when we "Rightly divide The Word of Truth." (2 Timothy 2:15)

Therefore, I ask the question again, "Who was Cain building this 'City' for?

Before we attempt to answer this, let's first understand what a City truly is.
The Word for "City," in Hebrew is "Iyr," spelt "Ayin Yud Resh."  The Paleo picture is "The Eye is the Authority of the Head."  Its root meaning is "Excitement." - "Come and see what it has to offer."

Now, let's break this down.  Cain, unable to do what he knows best, growing produce, is forced to hunt for food.  Realizing that if he "Trades" his Meat for Produce, he can have a more balanced diet, or a variety of foods, if you please.  Therefore, in essence, "Cain" established a City, where people could come and trade their goods.  The initial "Purpose" of the City, was to establish a "Place of Trade."
This was the beginning of the "Canaanites" ("Qayintes" = Merchants).  What's also interesting to note is that the English word is traced back to the god "Mercury."  This is where it starts to get interesting.

Now I ask, whose image stands tall above our city (Winnipeg), which goes by a lesser title?  (The Golden Boy) If we take into account, that this city was established by "The Hudson's Bay Company," we will begin to understand why this particular god was chosen to represent this city.  The god of the merchants - Mercury - "Prosperity in Trade."

Here's a Winnipeg Fun Fact:  Winnipeg is the ONLY Legislative Building in Canada, who has a "god" on its dome.  Only Victoria has a persona on top, which is that of the Province's Discoverer, Captain George Vancouver.

At the time this Government was established, Winnipeg was the Centre of Trade for our Country, "The Gateway to the West."  Found directly in the midpoint between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, it was referred to as, "The Bull's Eye of the Dominion."  I wonder what "Message" we were sending, and "What Bull's Eye, was in reference?"

What is also worth noting is what was the other purpose of (The Golden Boy) "Mercury?" The Romans referred to him as "The Messenger." Now, when we turn this into "Hebrew Thought," this concept is where we get the Word, "Malach" (Angel) from.  Now, if Mercury is the "Messenger of Wealth," and this term is also associated with the Hebrew Word for "Melach" (King), the mystery is beginning to unfold.

A "King" is a "Messenger of Wealth."  Therefore in essence, a King is like unto what we would call a "CEO" today.  "Follow me, and I will lead you to Riches!"

We are going to look at this mystery a little closer when we reach the story of Abraham, specifically in Genesis 14, when we meet "The Kings" of Canaan.  As we studied there "Names," and broke them down into the Paleo Pictures, we discovered Amazing revelation about what exactly the Names of "The Kings" were.

I'm giving you this hors d' oeuvre, because once we begin to understand the foundation of what Cain was establishing, we will have a better understanding of "Kingdoms," and "City States."  This is significant to understand Covenants and Trade Relationships in future studies, and how this foundation effects Politics and Economics within Scripture, and History in its entirety.

Now, let's return to the study of "Cain's Kingdom."

Genesis 4:18-22

Jabal had moved away from hunting, and established the concept of domesticated Ranching.  His brother Jubal began to create Instruments of Music and Theatrical Arts.  More and more people were coming to The City of Enoch.

Now, what's more is that in order to "Bring them in," Entertainment was used as a tool of enticement - "Excitement!" ("Iyr" - The Hebrew Word for City).  It was the beginning of Theatrical and Musical Arts, as well as Technological Trade.

Then, as Tubal-Cain forged cutting tools of brass and iron, the age of Technology began the process of making our "Work" easier.  Therefore, the lure of acquiring Technology became a part of "All the Excitement!" (Convention Centres and Trade Shows).  "Nothing New Under the Sun."

In essence, Cain took it upon himself to create the idea of Commerce, and this is why his name became the Ancient Word for "Purchase."  If he could not grow for himself, then he found a way to partake, by creating a "Centre of Trade."  In doing so, Cain became a King.  This is why in Hebrew Thought the word for "Jealousy" and "Purchase" are synonymous.  "Qayin" is describing a primal emotional state of "Want" or "Desire."  Isn't this the POWER of CONSUMERISM today?

Now, let's have a look at the Ancient Hebrew concept of "King," to gather a deeper understanding of the dynamics of ancient trade.

Within 2 Generations, the City of Enoch was Growing in Success, and  the Family was increasing.  The Kingdom was not only established, but thriving!

As we continue to look at this Hebrew Word "Malach," which we know is associated with the concept of "A Messenger" or "Angel," we realize that there is also a connection to the concept of "A King."  Remember in Hebrew, the translation: "Messenger Angel," is redundant, because "Angel" means "Messenger."  Keeping this in thought, as we associate the Word "Malech" with "King," and "Message," we are also introduced to the Hebrew Word for "Salt."

Yes, so when you think of the Word "Malach" in Hebrew, you must think of all the connected concepts; "Messenger" - "Angel" - "King" - and  - "Salt."

Then why is "Salt" associated in this string?  You tell me!  It is the Hebrew "מֶ֫לַח" - "Malach," (Salt) that connects everything together.

Therefore, let's look at the possible connections.

What do we know about Salt?

The first thing that comes to mind is "Flavour."  It is a seasoning.  The second thing that comes to mind is Kosher Salt.  It is called Kosher Salt, because of what it does.  These large chunks of salt, when poured over raw meat, and rubbed in, absorbs the moisture, specifically blood from the meat, and when washed away, the salt carries the blood away with it.  By conducting this process, thoroughly, meat becomes "Kosher."  As you know, the Bible tells us that we are not to "Eat the Blood."

Therefore, Salt is like a sponge.  It absorbs, and carries the moisture in it.  If these contents were to be extracted from the Salt, it would remain in a preserved state, because Salt is also a preservative.  Which is to say that, in a way, Salt was an ancient form of "Media" - A "Messenger" - "Malach."

This is why Ancient Men would bow, when they encountered "Angels," these where the direct "Messengers" of YHVH.  They carried the pure "Message" from Him.  They too, were like "Salt."

Therefore, let's look at what Yeshua taught us on this matter:

"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot." Matthew 5:13

In essence, Salt is to carry The Message (Ha'basarah - The Gospel), but if the Salt loses its ability to carry The Message (Its Purpose) then it becomes of no value.  Therefore, just like Kosher Salt, once it absorbs the blood it has fulfilled its purpose.  The Word for "The Gospel" (Ha'Basarah) also means "The Message."  If the Message is the Pure (Preserved Message) of YHVH, then it is Kosher, but if the Salt picks up impurities, as well, then The Message becomes impure -- Defiled.

This is why I teach the importance of Hebrew Thought.  Hebrew is like that Salt of The Message.  It not only carries The Message, but preserves its integrity as well.  We may have picked up impurities along the way, but the true objective is to learn how to extract the Pure Message of The Gospel again, all the while flushing out the impurities that defile it.

Therefore, if we are The Salt, and we understand that "Ha'Basarah" (The Gospel) is also rooted in the Hebrew Word, "B'shar" (The Flesh), then we are the carriers of The Gospel.

Like Salt, the Flesh absorbs what is around it.  This is like DNA.  It is an information media, that tells the cells what they are supposed to be.  When that DNA Message is obscured, the cells become confused, and begin to form their own understandings - Cancer.  The Man (Adam) becomes The Man (Enosh) - "Corrupted."

Our very lives are examples of this process.  Bad things happen to "Good People," and these tragedies that we take in, provide a testing ground for response.  However, it is our behavior, and how we react to these things, that is the test if we are truly "Good People."  Therefore, be the filter that YHVH has created us to be, and find the "Good," and extract it from "The Bad."

Here's an Israeli Fun Fact.  Did you know that the Israelis where the first to use DNA as a Media Transfer mechanism, for "General Information?"  Meaning - Not just for DNA sequencing!

http://www.geek.com/chips/israeli-scientists-claim-dna-computing-breakthrough-551831/

The Flesh (B'shar) and Blood (Dam), are truly designed to carry information, and Ancient Hebrew already told us this thousand of years ago.  This is WHY, "Life is in the Blood."  Then again, what do you think inspired the Israelis to even attempt this?  "B'shar" (The Flesh - The Message.)  Our very Flesh is The Messenger.

If we were able to extract and separate (Kadosh - Make Holy) the Pure from the Impure, then we could cast out the impurities, leaving us with (Once Again) the Pure Message.

Isn't this the lesson we learn from the purifying of Gold?  As the metal is heated, the impurities within the metal separate, and rise to the top.  It is at this point that the Gold Smith draws off the dross, and repeats the process over and over, until the Gold is in its purest state.  This is how we get "Pure Gold."  It's Amazing how many ways YHVH has demonstrated this concept within Creation, from Chemical Reactions to Evaporation and Distillation.

Yeshua taught, "What goes into someone's mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them."  Matthew 15:11

Again, we see the Flesh (B'Shar) used to absorb data, but like The Liver and Kidneys, we are to extract the purity to be utilized, and dispense with the garbage.  Our Flesh is the Filter!  Therefore, let go of the garbage!

Yeshua also illustrates this in the Parable of the Wheat and the Tares;

24 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field;25 but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. 26 But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared.27 So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ 28 He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ 29 But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.”’” Matthew 13:24-30

YHVH has been sifting out the Chaff, since the beginning, and trying to convey this Message to us, "His Kingdom (Message) is Pure."  Therefore "Be Holy, as He is Holy."

Now, as we draw to our conclusion of today's Installment, I realize that inevitably, I did not answer this question about "Where did these other People came from, that joined Cain?"  However, as we begin next week's study, we will begin to see once again, the problem with mixing The Pure, with the Impure.  (Adam and Enosh) This is when we will begin to look at a possible answer to this mystery.

In fact, as we conclude today's study, here is a transition into next week's Installment.  Let's look at one last point in Genesis Chapter 4.  The last verse reads:

"Seth also had a son, and he named him Enosh. At that time people began to call on the name of the LORD." Genesis 4:26

Now in English, this appears to be a rather positive notion.  It was "At this Time, that people began to 'CALL' upon the name of The LORD," right?  This again is a place where the Translation Fails us.  If we connect this with the concept, "And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'" Acts 2:21, it appears to be a "Good Thing."

However, the difference is found in the Hebrew use of the word, to "Call," which explains that this is not the same concept, as to "Call" upon the Name of The LORD to be "Saved."  The word used here is actually introducing the concept of "Idolatry."

I first stumbled across this revelation when reading the Rabbinical Commentaries.  The Commentaries described this verse as "A Matter of Fact," that this was about Idolatry.  I questioned this, and went to the Hebrew to verify.  It was at this point that I realized that the Root Word used in Hebrew here was, "Chalal" and not "VaYikra."

VaYikra is the term for "Calling" upon The LORD for "Salvation."  The Word "Chalal" is a negative connotation, in reference to "Peirce," which within Hebrew Thought is equated with Blaspheme or "Appointing Value" to something.  Which is to say, what is being described here is that, at the Time of Enosh, Men began to "Appoint Value" to "Things" as being Divine, or equal to YHVH - Idolatry.

It was at this time that people began to look to superstition, nature, and myth to explain Prosperity, Tragedy and Misfortune.  They gave value to things that were of no equal value to YHVH.  Meaning that they gave Divine Power (Over Themselves) to the things of this World, and when it says that they "Called" upon the Name of The LORD, the Hebrew is in  fact referring to calling things that were NOT YHVH, "YHVH."  (Idolatry).

This concludes another Week's Installment of The Shadows of Hebrew.  Stayed tuned for next week, when we begin to explore the Life and Times of Noah.

Blessings, and Thanks for Reading.

The Shadows of Hebrew (Part 6)

If we were to look back, over the past 6 Weeks, one common thread that we have been taught is that, "The End is not far from the Beginning," and vice-versa.  Meaning that, although Hebrew Thought may appear to entertain some forms of linear thinking, it tends to remain cyclical in nature.  "The Last shall be first, and the first shall be last."

My point is that we must learn to wrap our "Greek Minds," around this Ancient form of Hebrew Thinking.  Let this Mind be within you, which was also within Messiah Yeshua.  In such thought, we begin to understand the importance of "The Father and I, are One" - " Echad.  Therefore, as we had learned from a previous installment, the objective of Hebrew Math, is for everything to return to an "Echad" (Unified) state.

The Universe is a complex, yet a simple Existence.  Sometimes it is the way that we see things, that blinds us from actually "Seeing" what we are looking at.  Therefore, in Love, and desire for "The Quest for Truth," let us learn to humble ourselves to the notion that God Chose this Language to convey His Message - "The Gospel."

Now, to keep within the context of "Truly seeing what is being proclaimed," understand that I am not "Greek" bashing or "Gentile" bashing, for that matter.  What I am simply trying to convey is that there are Dynamics within The Shadows of Hebrew, that serve a purpose of telling the story in more detail, but those details have been "Hidden," in plain sight, for a reason.  Keep in mind the Words of Yeshua, when asked about why He taught in Parables:

10 The disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?”
11 He replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.12 Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. 13 This is why I speak to them in parables:
“Though seeing, they do not see;
though hearing, they do not hear or understand.

As one of our Midrashim had once declared, upon revelation in a study: "They have not been hidden FROM us, but FOR us!"  Amen!

Much like the event between Elisha and his servant;

"And Elisha prayed, "Open his eyes, LORD, so that he may see." Then the LORD opened the servant's eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha."  2 Kings 6:17

Although the servant could not see the Hosts of Heaven, it didn't mean that they were not there.  This is that amazing design of YHVH's Universe.  Light frequencies allow us to see things, as well as, hide them from us.  It is also these oscillating light frequencies that determine structure on a sub-atomic level, and it is similar to the idea of coloured sand in a jar.  When oscillated at a high frequency, the sands can pass by each other, creating the illusion that solid objects are passing through each other.

This is also like the stuttered affect of a strobe light flashing, and with each strobe blast, matter is pulsing in and out of structural existence.  Therefore, as long as the frequencies remain in rhythmic harmony, it would appear that two objects can actually occupy the same "Space," at the same time.  To further illustrate this phenomenon, we only need to look at the engineering behind a Propeller driven Fighter Plane.  The on board machine gun system, is timed that the bullets are only fired through the propeller  at the precise rhythm that they do not hit any of the four spinning blades - Cosmic Harmony on a practical level.

The point is that, if 2 objects can exist within the same space simultaneously, (if "existing" at different frequencies) or matter and anti-matter can share the same space, based up which Sub-Atomic particle is "On" within this realm, and which one is "Off," it is this dance of equilibrium that maintains the sub-atomic structure of what we call, "Existence."   - Let there be Light!

Therefore, if Elisha is tuned into "The Spiritual Realm," he is able to experience things within that frequency of that existence.  If his servant is not tuned in, he is only aware of the things of the Flesh.  However, once Elisha prayed that The LORD would open his eyes, the servant could see this other realm, as well.

Now, I pray that this does not appear that, by using explanations through Theoretical Physics, that I am belittling this "Spiritual" event.  My intent is not to belittle, but rather share some acquired insight.  In the same way that "Science" explains how the Sun, Moon and Stars work in relation to each other (regarding gravitational dynamics), this does not take away from the fact that YHVH made this happen.  I just want to make you aware that YHVH is not offended by our desire to Know Him, and the Marvels of His Creation.  All I'm saying is that, it doesn't all have to be a Mystery, in order for it to be Sacred.  - Hidden FOR us.

Shalom, and welcome back to The Shadows of Hebrew.  In Part 6, we are going to look at Mankind after Death.  I use the term "Death," more so to illustrate a deeper point.  Much in the same way that we refer to the event of the Setting and Rising of the Sun, as "A Day,"  in reality, "A Day" is merely Darkness to Light, to Darkness again, which can represent any "Era of Existence."  Although this happens on a Cosmic and Spiritual level, we rarely refer to this as "A Day," even though this is the true meaning behind the Word "Yom" (Day).

"The Great and Terrible DAY of The LORD" - This is a reference to an Era, apposed to a 24 hour period.

In modern times we only look to the rising and setting of the Sun, to be "A Day." We use this "Pet Name," without even a second thought, that this is not it's primary meaning.  Therefore, in the same manner, I want us to understand the concept of "Death."

Although we associate "Death" with the end of one's Life, "Death" is merely an experience of transition from one form to another, or one realm to another.  Just as we were in one "Form" within the Garden of Eden, when we were exiled, we experienced a whole "New Form," of existence, outside of Eden - "Death."  For this reason, YHVH gave us "Skins" (Flesh) to exist outside of The Garden. (Genesis 3:21)

This explains that when YHVH stated in Genesis 2:15-17, this was not simply to be taken "Metaphorically," When He declares:

16 ... "Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat;

17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it; for in the DAY that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely DIE."  Genesis 2:15-17

The Eating of the Fruit, began the end of an Era of a Relationship with YHVH, and began an Era of a Separation (Death) and subsequently, a need for a journey back to Him - The Quest for Echad.
55
Our removal from The Garden, because of our Sin, was to be considered a "Death" -or- a "Transition" from One Form (Existence), to another.

However, without attempting to go too far into the metaphysical hints of Scripture, I just want to point out one thing that gives a glimpse of how we can begin to understand the workings of the Universe.

In Parts 2 and 3, we looked at the building blocks of the Universe, and the effects of Darkness and Light on our very "Existence."  We also looked at the "Tohu - Bohu" or the coming together of Space and Matter.

Now, before we proceed into the next stage of the Human Experience, let's look back at something that sheds some "Light" on the matter of "Death."

In Genesis 3:24 it reads:

24 So He drove out the man; and He placed at the east of the garden of Eden the cherubim, and the flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way to the tree of life. {S}

This is to say that He has installed "A Barrier," making it impossible to return, at this time.  Here it describes a "Flaming Sword."  The Word for Flaming is "Lahah."  The first letter is a Lamed, in Paleo Thought it depicts "The Sheppard's Rod of Correction or Guidance."  As we study this reaction to our Sin a little closer, we learn that this is not as much a curse of punishment, as it is a "Protection" for ourselves.  The Question is, "What is He 'Protecting' us from?"

This next verse explains it:

22 And the LORD God said: 'Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil; and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever.' Genesis 3:22 - AKA: "An Eternal Continuance within the state of Sin."

Isn't that the objective of Scripture?  Isn't this the ultimate Goal and Purpose of our Salvation?

We must "Die" to Self, in order to Return (T'Shuva) to Him!

Therefore Mashiach proclaims:

Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the Kehilot. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God. Revelation 2:7

The point is that within our Fallen State, should we have eaten of the Tree of Life, we would have remained within this State, without hope of redemption.

Therefore, He casted us Out - To Protect us, from ourselves.  This was the Plan of Redemption, all along.

"Death, for the purpose of Resurrection!"

This is why Yeshua teaches:

23 Yeshua replied, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. 24 Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. 25 Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. 26 Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me. John 12:23-26

Paul also teaches this concept in 1 Corinthians 15

“Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?" 1 Corinthians 15:55

This "Glory," that they speak of, is found within the Ancient Hebrew.  We discovered this Word last year, in "The Song of Moses," almost by accident.

There is a verse from The Song of Moses, found in Deuteronomy 32;

יג  יַרְכִּבֵהוּ עַל-במותי (בָּמֳתֵי) אָרֶץ,  {ס}  וַיֹּאכַל תְּנוּבֹת שָׂדָי;  {ר}  וַיֵּנִקֵהוּ דְבַשׁ מִסֶּלַע,  {ס}  וְשֶׁמֶן מֵחַלְמִישׁ צוּר.  {ר}

13 He made him ride on the high places of the earth, and he did eat the fruitage of the field; and He made him to suck honey out of the crag, and oil out of the flinty rock... D'varim 32:13

Now, I have copied The Hebrew as well, so that you can see this secret hidden within the Ancient Hebrew.  Notice the Hebrew Word within Parenthesis?  "Bet Mem Tav Yud" - "Bemteh," it means "Heights" or "High Places."

This is "Glory," to be "Made to Ride," -or- "Glorified to High Places!"  How High?  The Highest!  Therefore, the Word is "Bemteh."

Now, look at the word BEFORE the Word in parenthesis.  "Bet Mem Vav Tav Yud." - "B'Moteh," it means "Ba" (In), Mot (Death), Yud (Grammatical Possessive) = "In my Death."

What Character differentiates the two concepts between "Bemote" and "Bemte?"  The Vav...  In Paleo Hebrew concept, "The Nail."

In this discovery, we questioned the use of the parenthesis and the removal of the Vav.  It was explained to us that, the Vav version is for "Printed" use, but the Non-Vav is for "Spoken" use.  The Scribes simply wanted to "Point that out."

I have two issues with this explanation:

1) Why is the Verbal indicator used within this context, and not in other aspects of Scripture, to differentiate the Written form from the Verbal applications?

2) "Did the Ancient Hebrews 'Invent' the Parenthesis?"  or were they "Added" after the fact?

The point is that, the Ancient Hebrew only used the Vav - "B'moteh" version.  There were no Parenthesis in Ancient Hebrew.  The Original Scripture did not have a "Bemteh" (without the Vav).  The Original Text would have only read "Bet Mem Vav Tav Yud." - "B'moteh" - "In My Death."  Therefore, regardless of the "Modern" addition of the Parenthesis, and the "Explanation," the Ancient Hebrew Thought ("As it was Written"), would have understood this as it was meant to be read, without the "Added" assistance.  "B'Mote" - "In My Death."

Now this creates an even Greater Paradox.  Although this context is referred to "The Song of Moses," upon reading the Narrative, we realize that this is actually The Song of YHVH, and Moses is merely scribing from dictation.  Therefore, if this is YHVH speaking through Moshe, then why would YHVH speak in 1st Person, "In My Death?"  This is impossible, and therefore, the Scribes felt is necessary to explain this Scriptural Anomaly by adding the parenthesis - "Bemteh" (High Places)  Ironically, in doing so, they inadvertently explained what the removal of the nail from Mashiach lead to - "Bemteh!"

OK, then let's revisit this notion for a moment.  If this is the Personal Expression of YHVH, merely dictated by Moshe, and within the context, the Ancient Hebrew (By the Pen of Moshe) writes, "In My Death," then How is this even possible?  This makes no "Theological" sense!  Exactly, then this is why the Scribes had to do what they did...  Right?

Unless, we are misunderstanding the concept of "Death" itself.

If Death is merely a Transition from one form to another, then is it possible that Death is merely that "Translation," from one state or realm to another?

We know that YHVH visited Abraham in a Fleshly state, so "Real," that He ate with him (Genesis 18), but He wasn't Born, and didn't "Die," to have this encounter.

My point is that "Heaven" isn't so far away - just as the Beginning is not so far from The End.

"The Kingdom of Heaven is near."  Matthew 3:2 and Matthew 10:7

In fact, this is the concept of Eden.  It's still there... Here on Earth.  It is just invisible to "The Eye" (Ayin).  The Hebrew Character, "Ayin" is an "Eye," which can be used in a Word context to refer to "Sight."  Now, taking this into mind, let's look at a controversial point in Scripture...

24 And Enoch walked with God, and he was not; for God took him. {S} Genesis 5:24

The Hebrew does not deliver such a direct conclusion, as Theology implies.  The Word for "Was Not," is "Ayin," which can mean - "Not," but it can also makes reference to "Sight."  However, within this context, we are seeing a paradox.  If Ayin is to "See," then why does  it mean, "He was Gone?"  YHVH "Took" him.  Like the Garden, it's not that Enoch was "No More," he was simply translated from one realm of existence to another.  Did he experience "Death?"  In a way - Yes, but not "The Death," as we understand it.

The "Curse of Death" is that we would return from whence we came, but this Curse is not without the chance of redemption - The Resurrection.  This is where it gets interesting.

Let's go back to "Bemte-Bemote" again for a moment, and understand what the Hebrew is teaching us.  In the Original version, we see The Vav (Nail) - Meaning "In My Death."  Now, once that "Nail" is removed, what happens, in the Hebrew Concept?  "Bemte" - Raised to High Places - Glorified!  This is the depiction of the Death and Resurrection of the Messiah, right in "The Song of Moses."  What's more, is that through Messiah, we are all welcomed to be a part of this Redemption - Resurrection!

You see, God's "Curse," is not for the purpose of Destruction, but a means to an End.  Death is only the transition required, so that He can accomplish His Plan.  Please do not get me wrong, and assume that I am teaching that there is no punishment for our actions...  I will state this, for the record, Yeshua spoke more about the Dangers of Sheol and Gihennah (Hell), than He did the rewards of Heaven, but that said, we must not forget His Plan:

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.  John 3:16-21

Yes, we were all Cursed to return to the Ground from where we came, but not without hope of Olam Haba (The World to Come) - "The Resurrection."

Therefore, let us not miss out on this "Opportunity" (Grace) to Exist in the Resurrection.  Let us LEARN from our Errors and Sin, pressing on towards the Higher Calling - T'shuva! (Repent - Return).

We were created as Adam (Man) - Perfect, in His Image.  However, because of our Sin, we became Enosh - (Corrupted Man).  This does not mean that we must stay this way.  We must be like "Enoch," (Dedicated) to the Goal of Restoration with YHVH.  This is the purpose of Messiah's Coming, to bring us BACK - T'Shuva, not to push us further from Him!

Therefore, as Cain experienced this "Curse," that the Ground would no longer Yield to him, he experienced a Second Death.  There was the Death of the exile from The Garden, but now the Ground would not even give him sustenance.  Cain was going to exist in a Realm of a Fugitive State, Wandering to find food, and "Eternal Life."

A "Fugitive" and a "Wanderer?"  There is that double redundancy again, just like in "Tohu and Bohu."  Why?

Now, here's a clue to what was happening to Cain and the Generations to follow.  In Genesis 4, we read:

12 When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a wanderer shalt thou be in the earth.' (Genesis 4:12)

Again, by now we should understand that just because we see redundancy in the English Translation, doesn't mean that it is saying the same thing in Hebrew.  This is simply telling us again, that Cain was "Wandering," without instruction, and without a Goal - "To'ah"

The words for "Fugitive" and "Wanderer," are respectively "Na," and "Nod."  The Paleo describes "Living at the Eye," and "Living at the Door."  What could these Words be trying to imply?

What is the Eye, and What is the Door?

If we were to seek the Scriptures to find such references, we would find, Yeshua speaking of such things within Parable.

"Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the EYE of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God." Matthew 19:25

What is the Eye of the Needle?  The Clue is right there within His statement - It is a metaphoric reference to "The Entry."  What Entry?  "The Door!"  (A very "Narrow" Door)

What Door?

"I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture." John 10:9

What are we to make of these connections hidden within The Shadows of Hebrew?

We are to understand that the Curse of Death is "Blindness."  Blindness to find the very door of Salvation, that we are seeking.  Like the Men of Sodom were blinded to find the door, so has man been cursed to find Him!  However, as John 3:16 teaches us, He has come into this world to show us the way to Himself.  By the Leading of His Ruach HaKodesh, we are lead to the very door that we have been seeking, since the Days of Cain.

Therefore Yeshua Teaches:

1“Then the kingdom of heaven will be comparable to ten virgins, who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.2“Five of them were foolish, and five were prudent.3“For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them,4but the prudent took oil in flasks along with their lamps.5“Now while the bridegroom was delaying, they all got drowsy and began to sleep.6“But at midnight there was a shout, ‘Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.7“Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps.8“The foolish said to the prudent, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’9“But the prudent answered, ‘No, there will not be enough for us and you too;go instead to the dealers and buy some for yourselves.’10“And while they were going away to make the purchase, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast; and the door was shut.11“Later the other virgins also came, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open up for us.’12“But he answered, ‘Truly I say to you, I do not know you.’13“Be on the alert then, for you do not know the day nor the hour. Mathew 25:1-13

Let us not be like these foolish Virgins, Wandering - "Na and Nod," looking for a door that they cannot find. Rather, look for Him (The Door) within the Shadows of Hebrew, and He will reveal Himself to you.  He is this Light that made all things, and without Him, nothing was made, that was made.  Amein!

Chaverim, when I began this Installment, I was attempting to take it in a different direction, regarding The Hidden Blessing for Cain, but this is not where the Spirit Lead.  Therefore, I will attempt to address this issue in the next installment of The Shadows of Hebrew.  As mentioned, I am on Vacation right now, and it has been very difficult to find the time to complete this Installment - A Week Late!!!  I beg your forgiveness, and look forward to continuing to explore these topics in the weeks to come.

I hope you've had a blessed Pesach, and Chag Semeach!

Tune in, in a couple weeks, and we will continue to Study The Shadows of Hebrew.  Thanks for Reading.

Blessings.
